Education

Àlex Maestro (1993 - Sabadell, Spain) graduated with honours at the Music Conservatory of Sabadell (2011) having as a trumpet teacher Àlex Baiget. He has had coaching from the pedagogue Jordi Albert since 2014.
He obtained a Performance Bachelor’s Degree in Classical and Contemporary music (2012-2016) at the School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC) in Barcelona with the trumpet teachers Mireia Farrés, Manuel Blanco and Matthew Simon (Jazz).
Meanwhile he went to the Norwegian Academy of music (NMH) for a year in an Erasmus Program, improving thanks to Jonas Haltia and Anthony Plog.
He is attending a Performance Master’s Program in Trumpet at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.

Orchestral Experience

Àlex Maestro has played the trumpet with the Oslo Filharmonien (Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra), Norwegian Radio Orchestra (NRK), Barcelona's Symphony Orchestra, Vallès Symphony Orchestra, Camera Musicae and the Barcelona's wind band.
Recently, he has admitted as a substitute musician in the Oslo Filharmonien. In addition to this, he has also been playing in some youth orchestras from Catalonia.
As a private instructor, he has been teaching trumpet from two years. Moreover, he has performed different musical styles as a freelance musician, and has been involved in many kind of musical sets, from jazz quartets and big bands to musical theatres, brass quintet, wind bands and funky.

He has been receiving lessons from Phillip Smith, Joseph Alessi, Reinhold Friedrich, Jeroen Berwaerts, trumpet section of OFO (Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra), Adam Rapa, Kristian Steenstrup, Guido Segers Luis González, Jens Lindemann, Pep Casado, Pacho Flores, Ángel Serrano, Ricard Cassany (trompeta barroca), Franck Pulcini, Miguel Ángel Bosch, Hiro Noguchi, Rubén Marqués, Juanjo Serna, Carlos Benetó, Pierre Badel, Jean-Pierre Mathez, Arnulf Naur Nilsen, Jan Fredrik Christiansen, Frøydis Ree Weckre, Brynjar Kolbergsrud and Quartet Casals.
